Student Council

‘Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people.’-Abraham Lincoln

India is the largest democracy of the world where leaders are elected by the citizens and we would like to

imbibe in our students a true spirit of the same, through Student Council. Student Council is one such

platform to create future leaders and entrust each child with specific responsibilities to hone their

leadership skills thus making them leaders of tomorrow. The Student Council Elections, will provide a

platform to the students to exercise their democratic rights , where they will exercise their right to vote and

choose their student representatives through secret ballot.

The selection process for the Student Council is as follows:

SL. NO	SELECTION PROCESS	PROCEDURE
1.	Filing of Nomination forms	Filing of the nomination forms with requisite documents.
2.	Shortlisting	The forms will be shortlisted by the Selection Committee.
3.	Interview Round	Shortlisted candidates would be interviewed to assess the student’s confidence, commitment and conviction.
4.	Final nomination	After the interview round, there would be a declaration of the names of shortlisted selected candidates for the post of Head Boy Head Girl Vice Head Boy Vice Head Girl Discipline Captain Resource Captain Cultural Captain Sports Captain These candidates would stand for election and students will exercise their right to vote and choose their student representatives. *Rest all the other posts (apart from the ones mentioned above) will be decided by the Selection Committee followed by an interview round.
5.	Campaigning	Election Campaign in classes/ Assembly
6.	Polling	Casting of votes by the students
7.	Result Declaration	Investiture Ceremony

Students can apply for more than one post (maximum 2 posts). Kindly furnish the details in the Student

Council Form attached with this circular
